1. Mobility and Stability

Addressing mobility and stability deficiencies is the first step in functional rehabilitation. Key areas of focus include:

  • Ankle and Hip Mobility: Limited mobility in these areas can disrupt overall movement patterns. Corrective exercises such as ankle dorsiflexion drills, hip flexor stretches, and banded joint mobilizations restore range of motion.
  • Core Stability: Core engagement is foundational for reducing compensatory movements. Exercises like dead bugs, planks, and bird dogs are introduced to build endurance and control.

Joint Mobility: Enhancing mobility through exercises like shoulder circles, T-spine rotations, and cat-cow stretches is critical for upper body movement efficiency.

  • Explosive Power Training: Exercises like medicine ball slams, sled pushes, and broad jumps develop power and endurance with direct carryover to athletic performance.
  • Agility Drills: Incorporating ladder drills, cone drills, and change-of-direction work enhances speed and agility while maintaining proper mechanics.

Endurance and Strength Integration: Combining movements like kettlebell complexes or AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) workouts promotes sustained performance under fatigue, preparing patients for real-life demands.
